<idAbs>Para estimar o quanto da disponibilidade hídrica subterrânea já está sendo consumida, é preciso conhecer os volumes extraídos pelos poços. Em 2017 estimou-se a existência de 1,2 milhões de poços no Brasil, estimativa ampliada para 2,6 milhões de poços em 2021. A retirada total para essa quantidade de poços foi estimada em 1.083,3 m³/s, o que corresponde a 8% das reservas explotáveis ou da disponibilidade hídrica subterrânea.
A estimativa da retirada total foi feita aplicando-se valores obtidos da base de dados disponíveis no SIAGAS/CPRM em dezembro de 2020 (330.265 poços), utilizando-se a mediana dos valores de vazão de estabilização dos poços (6 m³/h) obtida entre os dados disponíveis. Para o regime de operação dos poços, adotou-se um bombeamento de 6 horas diárias por 365 dias. Os poços cadastrados no SIAGAS representam 12,7% do número total estimado. No CNARH, onde apenas poços regularizados são registrados, o número de poços é ainda menor (126.221 captações subterrâneas), representando apenas 4,8% da estimativa total.</idAbs>
